[He laughs, tilting his head forward to muffle the sound against Dorian.]

[Smiling, Dorian ducks his head again, but this time at a closer range.] Alas, but I am reckless, and I would like very much to kiss you again.

[Accepting the point for what it is, Dorian takes a careful kiss. He works through it as if it were a negotiation of territory; for each moment he seizes, he waits for a signal of Judas's acceptance, and then he takes more. But in that slow built there is much of what Dorian has denied himself for all this time. He has felt alone, and now he wants to erase the feeling.]

[Judas tries to encourage Dorian, noticing the hesitancy. His fingers curl in Dorian's hair and he tries to stay close without losing balance.]

...Standing on the ground or at least sitting might be a little easier.

[With a smile, he gives Judas space.] And I was wanting to keep playing. You're not the only pretty thing I want to make up for lost time with.

What symbolism am I missing here? But I figured as much, that's why I intended to turn right around, I didn't mean to take up your time.

[He doesn't answer the first part, but for the second he grips Judas's sleeve more tightly.] No, stay. I want your company.

Going to play your club music for me?

[Dorian answers with a smile] Going to grind against me listening to it?

[Judas shakes his head, but can't help laughing.] You're not a stranger.

It doesn't have to be a stranger.

Oh, well in that case, just no. Not exactly my thing, sorry. It might be hard for you to play like that, after all.

You'd be surprised. [This time, he just kisses Judas briefly.] I'll play something a little more traditional.

[He smiles.] That would be nice. I really did love watching you play. It's nice seeing you so into something.

Is it sacrilege for me to listen in my shirt front?

[Dorian smiles.] I think I can permit it.

Are you sure? I can climb down and get my jacket if you'll be offended.

It's a sacrifice, but I will endure.

[Grinning, he kisses Dorian's cheek.]

What have you got to play?

[depicted]

[Dorian smiles involuntarily at the gesture, as if he were a boy again and such things carried twice their weight.] What are you in the mood for? Something cheerful or lighthearted, sorrowful, contemplative . . .

Well, I do like to brood. [His smile grows.] But a little more cheerful might be wise.

Hm, let me think . . .

[After a moment of sorting through his options, Dorian decides to work through Variations brillantes Op. 12 for Judas, in part for the simple pleasure of the piece.]

[Judas considers leaning against the side of the piano to listen, but worries about unbalancing it. So instead he sits on the branch and closes his eyes.]

It's nice. Calming, really.

[He doesn't say just how good that is for him.]
